Laser cutting

Laser cutting is a modern and widely used technique for processing materials. The cutting tool in this technique is a high-energy-density laser beam that cuts the material. The laser cutting process is based on the phenomenon of the laser beam interacting at its focal point, where its power is the highest, causing rapid melting, evaporation, ablation and heating of the cut material to the ignition temperature. The place where the beam hits the material is washed by a fast-flowing gas, which flows along the axis of the beam’s incidence and removes the melted material.

Laser cutting of materials

Examples of materials that can be cut on a laser include plastic, wood, plywood, organic glass, rubber, fabrics, leather, paper and other non-metallic materials.

Thanks to the possibility of programming routes and changing laser parameters, various shapes, patterns and details can be obtained. Laser cutting is also often used to create cutouts and grooves in materials.
